Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. These noisy birds feed on berries, seeds, nuts and roots. They’re equally at home in the city and in the bush. 

One of Australia's most popular and iconic birds, the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, has been known to live up to eighty years of age. We have all heard their loud screech and seen them feeding in groups. If you go to Leura shops in the Blue Mountains there's a good chance you will see them eating leftover artisan pizza in the Main Street as they love to scavenge human foods although their main food is seeds, nuts and berries and roots.
